FAQ
What is a dental emergency?
Whenever a patient contacts us experiencing an emergency we undertake a triage in order to assess the level of the emergency. Patients who are in pain, those who have experienced trauma and those suffering symptoms of infection will always take priority. Other less severe emergencies include broken teeth, lost crowns and lost dentures.
How soon will I be seen?
We strive to see all registered patients within 24 hours of them contacting us. An assessment will be offered and if possible the required corrective treatment will be carried out at the same visit.
Do I need to registered to book an emergency appointment?
No. We can also see patients who are registered at other practices or patients who do not have a dentist. Non-registered patients need to call the NHS emergency line on 0300 123 1663 in the first instance. We endeavour to see non-registered patients during normal practice hours. Evenings and weekends may be available depending on how busy the practice is. Please call the practice for more information around emergency appointments.
How much does an emergency appointment cost?
Registered plan and private patients will pay the normal treatment fee for the work carried out during an emergency appointment. Non-registered patients will be required to pay a fee of £95.00 for the emergency assessment plus the cost of the treatment carried out. NHS patients will be required to pay the appropriate NHS fee.
